Boston Xeljanz Lawyer

Xeljanz Lawsuits

The FDA recently made it known that Xeljanz can cause significant harm if taken in the wrong dosage.  Pfizer created the drug in hopes that it would properly treat patients with arthritis, but the frequency and intensity of its side effects have made it unsafe.  As Xeljanz sparks litigation, you may be asking yourself if you need a Xeljanz lawyer.

The Ins and Outs of Xeljanz

Xeljanz has been produced and distributed as a way to combat psoriatic and rheumatoid arthritis through its active ingredient, tofacitinib.  Janus Kinases are enzymes in the human body that can eventually inflame and damage joints.  Tofacitinib works to suppress those enzymes and reduce the symptoms of arthritis.  Xeljanz isn’t expected to work for about 2 to 8 weeks for most patients., and you’re warned that the full effects of the drug may not take effect for 3 to 6 months.

With taking Xeljanz, there are risks of some uncomfortable side effects.  The common ones being:

  • Infection
  • Pneumonia
  • Shingles
  • Head Pain
  • High Cholesterol
  • Throat Irritation
  • Urinary Tract Infection
  • Excessive fat in the blood
  • Diarrhea

Do I need a Xeljanz Lawyer?

Personal Injury cases are authenticated on the basis of your diagnosis, prescription, and reaction to the drug.  Xeljanz lawsuits are growing as the drug negatively effects more patients.  It was created with the intention to treat arthritis, but was soon discovered to cause additional complications.  Xeljanz puts you at risk for developing blood clots in your lungs and may eventually lead to death.  However, the litigation process isn’t in motion yet, but to qualify you’ll need records of:

  • treatment for arthritis with Xeljanz or Xeljanz XR,
  • prescription 10 mg twice a day, and
  • current suffering from pulmonary embolism, pulmonary thrombosis, deep thrombosis, stroke, or other blood clot injuries.
