Car accident in Boston

On Tuesday, Route 1 in Norwood, Massachusetts, was the site of a severe car collision that resulted in significant injuries for two individuals. The accident, which took place on University Avenue, prompted Norwood Police Chief William Brooks to advise the public to steer clear of the area as emergency services, including a medical helicopter, responded to the incident.

The two victims were urgently transported to nearby hospitals after being freed from the entangled wreckage of the two vehicles. One of them required an airlift due to the severity of their condition, as reported by the Norwood Fire Department.

Authorities received multiple emergency calls around 10:40 a.m., alerting them to the accident. Investigation teams were promptly deployed to ascertain the cause of the crash, while utility personnel attended to electrical poles that were affected by the collision.

Speed is believed to have played a role in the crash, according to Chief Brooks’ statement to NBC10 Boston. He described the scene as “horrific” and noted that both vehicles had sustained substantial damage, marking it as one of the most serious crashes witnessed in the area in a considerable period.

Images shared by Brooks and the fire department on social media illustrated the severity of the crash, with one white vehicle’s roof completely detached and a red vehicle visibly damaged at the roadside.
