Truck accident in Boston

In a harrowing incident on Sunday night in Bellingham, Massachusetts, a 38-year-old man identified as Robert Marcoux was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence and additional offenses after he lost control of his red truck, knocking down a sign for a local ice cream shop and narrowly avoiding a collision with an SUV carrying a woman and baby.

Surveillance footage captured the dramatic moment when the vehicle veered off Pulaski Boulevard, sideswiped another car, crashed into a stone wall, and careened through the ice cream shop’s parking lot. The incident occurred near Chevy’s Ice Cream, where the shop’s owners expressed relief that their delayed season opening prevented further potential casualties.

“You could see them lean out of the way and they got out of the car and she was holding the infant in the front seat,” Shayna Murray of Chevy’s Ice Cream recounted, indicating the close call for the woman and child in the SUV.

Murray reflected on the fortuitous delay in opening the family business, suggesting that frustrations from earlier obstacles likely averted a tragedy. “Then this happened and you’re looking and you’re saying ‘thank God all those things happened that were annoying me,’ because this could’ve ended a lot differently,” she said.
