In a tragic road rage incident in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, a 26-year-old woman named Destini Decoff has lost her life after being struck by a vehicle. The event took place late at night and resulted in Decoff being hit with such force that she was thrown into the air, causing her severe and ultimately fatal injuries.
Destini Decoff passed away in a hospital on Sunday, after being in critical condition since the incident. She suffered extensive injuries, including brain hemorrhage, internal bleeding, and multiple broken bones.
Ryan Sweatt, 36, the driver of the Honda Civic involved in the incident, has been taken into custody and is facing charges including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury.
The incident reportedly began when Sweatt was returning home and a car, with Decoff inside, abruptly stopped in front of him. This escalated, resulting in a confrontation. According to the prosecutor’s account, Decoff and several companions exited their vehicle, and at some point, Sweatt claimed they made threats against his life.
Sweatt, alleging a knife was brandished by one of Decoff’s companions, initially drove away from the scene. However, he then executed a U-turn and drove the car into Decoff at a high speed as she was standing in the road.
