A 24-year-old woman was tragically killed in a vehicle collision as she exited her workplace, a well-known supermarket in Revere, Massachusetts, on Sunday.
The victim, a recent immigrant from Ecuador, aspired to create a better future for herself and her family. Angela Osorio, a friend of the victim, expressed to local media how swiftly her dreams were shattered as a result of this tragic event.
Authorities reported that the driver involved in the crash remained at the scene to cooperate with law enforcement. The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office is currently spearheading the investigation. The identity of the deceased has not been publicly disclosed at this time.
The young woman left behind a 2-year-old child and had only been employed at the supermarket for a few months. Her colleagues are deeply mourning her loss, remembering her as someone who ventured to the United States in search of a brighter life for her and her child. “It’s incredibly hard because you empathize with the family’s pain; the girl came to this country seeking a better future, she came for her son,” said Ana María Saavedra, another acquaintance.
