A severe car accident occurred yesterday in Lowell-Dracut, Massachusetts, causing a significant disturbance in a residential area. Near midday, a vehicle, identified as a green Ford Mustang was involved in a high-speed single-car crash. The incident reportedly happened when the driver lost control of the car, causing it to veer off the road and come to a rest in a Hildreth Street yard, after colliding with an electrical pole.
Emergency services received calls around 12:30 p.m. regarding the accident and promptly arrived at the scene. They found the driver trapped inside the remnants of the car, necessitating immediate rescue efforts. After being extricated from the wreckage, the unidentified driver was transported to Lowell General Hospital, but the critical nature of the injuries required a subsequent transfer to a trauma center in Boston for specialized care.
Local eyewitness accounts indicate that the vehicle was moving at an excessive speed before it went out of control. The crash not only led to significant damage to the vehicle but also disrupted the property it ended up on. The wreckage scene showed the car entwined with the residential property’s landscaping, highlighting the severity of the impact.
Residents of the area and the homeowner whose yard was affected by the incident were left in shock. One local, Osarehinwen Foster-Efosa, expressed relief that the driver survived the crash, though the event shook the neighborhood.
