SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – In the early hours of Monday, a car accident occurred when a vehicle crashed into a convenience store on Boston Road in Springfield. The incident unfolded around 2:30 a.m. at the Kwik Pik store, leaving the car embedded in the store’s facade.
Emergency responders, including the Springfield Fire Department, were quick to arrive at the scene. Springfield Fire Captain Drew Piemonte confirmed that one individual sustained injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Details on the individual’s condition have not been disclosed.
The crash’s impact forced the closure of the lane adjacent to the convenience store, although traffic is still being allowed to pass along Boston Road. Commuters are advised to expect some delays as they make their way through the area during the morning travel period.
